Sorry, I was wrong-headed in the description comment. The stack name is insufficient as
that doesn't uniquely identify a channel; you need to know the channel name, a la the
'id' param passed to createMultiplexerChannel. So JMX registration couldn't
be done for channels created via createChannel(String stack_name), only for shared
transport channels created via createMultiplexerChannel.

Not sure this JIRA is relevant any longer. We decided to continue supporting MuxChannel in
JChannelFactory until EOL. Therefore I don't think we can achieve JMX registration of
shared transport there. Users would have to register shared channels individually just
like they register regular channels.

you already do this as part of the startup of an MBean don't you Brian ?

In AS 5, my ChannelFactory impl replaces the std JGroups createMultiplexerChannel logic
with logic that creates a shared transport channel. Before returning the channel I use the
existing JGroups code to register the channel in JMX. Works fine.
