Tom Elrod commented on JBREM-548:
----------------------------------
For the socket invoker and making oneway call, the client will only write data to wire and
return without waiting to read data off the wire and the server will only read data from
the wire and will throw away handler response and will not write it to the wire.
Support one way invocations with no response

Project: JBoss Remoting
Issue Type: Feature Request
Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
Reporter: Tim Fox
Assigned To: Tom Elrod
Fix For: 2.2.0.Beta1 (Bluto)
The current remoting implementation of a client side one way invocations just performs a
standard two way invocation on a different thread and returns without waiting for the
result.
JBoss Messaging would like to have a one way invocation which just performs a write to
the underlying stream (e.g. socket outpustream) and continues without waiting for the
result. This would result in less blocking and better performance since redundant writes
for the invocation response would be ommitted,
