[EJB 3.0] - Re: How to embed version number in ejb jndi names?

Thanks for the answers. I tried the @RemoteBinding approach, and it allows you to lookup beans under an overriding name. Cool. However, JBoss does not let me deploy 2 ejb jars with different versions of EJBs, even if the @RemoteBinding annotations are not conflicting. It says the names are already bound when i deploy the second one. The versioned ear file approach works though. It appears to be better able to provide isolation between apps. Thanks again. After a new user registers I wanted to auto log them in (refactoring for using Seam Security). The CVS version fixes the first problem. However the 2nd problem still exist. [Performance Tuning] - Will loading the same JAR from several EARs increase PermGen

I have three EARs deployed under JBoss each of which have a copy of a set of JARs. I'd like to keep these JARs at the EAR level (instead of server/lib) for reasons not worth mentioning here. My question is: does having copies of these JARs in each EAR increase the amount of PermGen space required by the JVM? IceFaces is on 1.5.3 ther was a nasty bug in 1.5.2. (they even did an interim unoffical patch for Seam guys!) better to upgrade asap !!! I can post my config files if you need help. It appears that logout and same 1.1.6 don't work too well right now. Gavin, and I assume the IceFaces people, know about it. Looking forwards to a new release of IceFaces following their trip to the "Seam Team" that should sort out a lot of Issues. I have been reading the JBoss WS documentation and as far as I can tell, you only need to replace all the soap-address elements in portal-wsrp.sar/portal-wsrp.jse/WEB-INF/wsdl/wsrp_services.xml by the correct URL (including port). For example: <wsdl:port binding="bind:WSRP_v1_Markup_Binding_SOAP" name="WSRPBaseService"> | <soap:address location="https://localhost:8443/portal-wsrp/ServiceDescriptionService"/> | </wsdl:port> You also need to perform the usual configuration steps to enable SSL support on AS as detailed in http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/jboss4guide/r4/html/ch9.chapt.html#d0e21962... and [url]http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/jboss4guide/r4/html/ch8.chapter.html#d0.... Then, configure your consumer to use the https port. You will need to use JBoss WS 1.0.4.GA for this to work properly, by the way. Now you are the genius's... lets be very clear about that... I had a login Action that called an Authentication object to authenticate the user; then my login action acted on the result of the authentication to decide which page to go to and returned it. I was fumbling around trying to find the "controller" so that I could tell it which page I wanted it to go to... e.g. <security:identity authenticate-method="#{authenticationController.authenticate}" loginSuccessPage='''' loginFailurePage="" logoutPage="mainMenu"/> Now I understand what you have done. You have merged the two "things" into one, called authentication. Perhaps the way I did it was naive, but it made sense at the time. at the end preferences are stored as strings in the db with an integer which says what data type it is. this is the potential usage as in reality we only use strings because JSR168 does not support more than that (unless you write your extension). what is the interface you are using ?
