OK, you are right, I remove the @EmbeddedId on pk and @Id on each attribute which are part of the primary key. And the result is still the same.... OK Sorry ive read the tutorial once again (thats probably the 20th time ai read it) and now i catch everything - forgot that the @scope defines default scope. One last thing. Suppose i have a form wich is quite complex. Form is bound to two entities. A and B. Before i persist the A and B beans id like to manipulate their values - can i do that using getters and setters like in normal POJO ? Also after persisting A and B i want to create object C ( from C entity bean) manipulate its values and persist it - so i need new C object - can i Instantinate it like normal POJO ? Thanks but the problem is that i get the same error even if i'm rendering a chart or jus a table of values. I can't tell why, cos none of my pdf facelets renders without giving me this error. [JBoss Portal] - Custom layout for a portal page

I have a jboss portal page with 4 portlets and was wondering if it is possible to arrange them as below. Portlet1 P2 | P3 Portlet4 To put in a Html perspective, 1st portlet occupying the entire first row and second and thrid sharing 50% each of the second row, and finally the third portlet occupying 100% of the third row. Any ideas/workarounds are greatly appreciated. Thanks.. [JBoss Seam] - Seam conflict with a4j:include and a4j:support

I have already shared this with the ajax4jsf forum, but they believe this is more of a seam issue. http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4076264#4076264 I am using a4j:support and onblur to do field validation on an edit screen. The edit page works fine standalone. When the edit screen is included using a4j:include i get some weird conflicts. 1 - When no field is selected the Save button works fine. 2 - When a field is selected and the save button is pressed then 2 requests are fired. One for onblur and one for pressing the button. Sometimes this works fine, but most times a NPE is thrown.
