Greetings:
[With Permission]
Both Mark Proctor and Edson Tirelli will be speaking at October Rules
Fest again this year. And those are just two of the really
outstanding speakers this year. Check out the web site for all of the
speakers, topics, and other information.
Hopefully all is well wherever you are located these days. I just
noticed that our Web Mistress (Chelanie) put a quote along with the
rotating photos on the front page of our web site. In effect it says
that October Rules Fest is "... the main tech-centric event in the
industry." Perhaps that sums it all up in a nutshell. All of the
others BRMS or Rulebase conferences are strictly business-related or
they are totally academic-centric.
ORF is, to my knowledge, the only "industry-related" conference on
rulebased systems that is technical in nature and is done in the
spirit of an academic conference. As such, we tend to draw highly
technical attendees and, to some degree, technical CxOs and technical
managers who are looking for high-end skill level rulebase personnel
to help them with their problems. We are NOT a job mart, but, at
times, it seems to be working out that way.
We have received the first flurry of White Papers and they are really
quite good - OK, they're outstanding! Remember, these will be
available only at the conference or to attendees and speakers (upon
request) for six months after the conference. Also, we will be video
taping the conference for the attendees and speakers only.
We are way ahead of last year in terms of attendees so be sure to sign
up soon to ensure that you have a seat at the table. Also, The
Adolphus is filling our ORF room allotment up as well so you need to
sign up there quickly. If you have any problems with either of these
signup places, please contact either myself or Chelanie.

"If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of
giants."
Sir Isaac Newton in a letter to Robert Hooke, 5 Feb 1676
Come to October Rules Fest and stand on the shoulders of the Giants of
the industry; if only for a week.
