Greg's solution would work just fine. The only issue I
have with it is that the business requirements usually specify A, B
and C. They don't specify 'not D'. It is there only to make our rules work,
which is not ideal. Just my 2c.
Usually I find that the business requirement is there. The business folks just don't
know it. :) They're usually requirements that are understood as givens, or as
obvious, so they don't think to specify it. That doesn't mean you can't help
them clarify their thinking.
