This could really do with an example e.g.
<task name="clean ceiling">
<controller class="com.yourcom.CleanCeilingTaskControllerHandler">
<foo>Foo is a common meta-variable</foo>
</controller>
</task>
and say that a field with this name should be present on the custom task controller.
