1. I have been using the settings:
-Xms256m -Xmx256m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m
on Windows for the past few days and have had no more perm space or heap space problems.
2. The other memory adjustment whioch should be made is the setting
ANT_OPTS=-Xmx256m
in build.sh and build.bat, which is low enough that the testsuite build most always fails
to generate reports correctly due to OOME on Java heap space.
We have found that -Xmx640m works well.

I've run the testsuite on dev03 twice now and got out of memory errors (see output at
end).
The testsuite is starting server 'all' with the command:
