Including base-matter here for further reference if required: Cause: CDI portable extensions were not picked up from a static module that had its services exposed to the deployment Consequence: CDI Portable extensions from a static module were not working unless they were explicitly activated in the deployment with META-INF/services/javax.enterprise.inject.spi.Extension file.
