The code that sets it is using the wrong var: {code} ModelNode accessMechanismNode = model.get(ACCESS_MECHANISM); if (accessMechanism != null) { accessMechanismNode.set(accessMechanismNode.toString()); } {code} It should be accessMechanism.toString()
