This would be useful in standalone JGroups, and in JBoss AS when the JChannelFactory itself parses the "stacks.xml" file, bypassing the JBoss code. I'll attach the JBoss utility class that does the substitution. Probably a simple fix is to duplicate this in JGroups and call it from the Configurator.
