A potential workaround for this is to disable EAR classloading isolation (in
ear-deployer-jboss-beans.xml). It solved a very similar problem (non Seam) for us in
JBoss 5.1.0. Obviously this isn't an option for everyone.

problems using quartz/seam with AS5, it works fine in jboss 4.2.2.
