Brian Stansberry commented on JBAS-8200:
----------------------------------------
There's a forum thread on this overall topic somewhere, but I can't find it, so
I'll post here.
Our distribution can be configured for a standalone usage with a developer-oriented web
profile. So, the current $JBOSS_HOME/server dir would always exist, with a configuration
subdir and a default standalone.xml. User could take some action to convert to a domain
controller setup, which would then create the $JBOSS_HOME/domain structure.
We should rename the $JBOSS_HOME/server dir to $JBOSS_HOME/standalone though. That helps
clarify how/why that dir is used.
