SOLUTION 1: we need to make sure that all of our tasks never throw an exception, e.g. by wrapping them into try-catch(Throwable) clauses SOLUTION 2: with the new TimeScheduler (see [1]), we can wrap all tasks and catch all exceptions there [1] https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JGRP-1051
