Bela Ban commented on JGRP-474:
-------------------------------
Done. When running both 2.4.1 SP2 and 5.0 beta-2, we see
On 2.4:
[WARN] [IncomingPacketHandler (channel=DrawGroupDemo)] TP.handleIncomingPacket(): packet
from 192.168.5.2:4993 has different version (4416) from ours (2.4.1). Packet is discarded
On 2.5:
[WARN] [Incoming Thread,DrawGroupDemo,192.168.5.2:4992] TP$IncomingPacket.run(): packet
from 192.168.5.2:4989 has different version (2.4.1) from ours (2.5.0). Packet is
discarded
Port new Version scheme to 2.4.1.SP2
------------------------------------
Key: JGRP-474
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JGRP-474
Project: JGroups
Issue Type: Feature Request
Reporter: Brian Stansberry
Assigned To: Bela Ban
Priority: Optional
Fix For: 2.4.1 SP2
Might make it easier to maintain the 2.4 line, i.e. if some day you want to cut a 2.4.2.
I believe a simple port s/b fine. A version short calculated under the old mechanism
would parse to major version 0 and minor version 0 under the new scheme. So, a new scheme
version would never compute as compatible with an old scheme version.
