Hi James,
jboss-logmanager was released on 8th of January 2014 and then log4j-jboss-logmanager on
28th of January (http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/jboss/logmanager/)
Object value passed to JBossLogManagerProvider.putMdc(String, Object)
should be returned from getMdc(final String)
