For example, I can't run AS7 with jboss.socket.binding.port-offset set to "-10". How to replicate: 1) download and unzip JBossAS 7.1.1.Final 2) cd to the bin/ directory 3) run this: ./standalone.sh -Djboss.socket.binding.port-offset=10 4) notice this runs fine - I can go to http://localhost:8090 successfully 5) shutdown the server 6) now run this: ./standalone.sh -Djboss.socket.binding.port-offset=-10 Now the server startup will produce errors and you can't go to http://localhost:8070 successfully.
