I don't think the workaround should be included here, as it doesn't look like true
workaround. And it confused me from the main issue. :)
Having to use server side properties instead of client side is analogous to just not using
properties at all. It means the user was unable to control the value in the process where
they want to control it. So I don't think it counts as a workaround.
