If you change the logger.org.jboss.as.config.level to TRACE and handler.FILE.level to
TRACE it will already be there. That actually dumps entire system environment.

David, that is reasonable for development, however this came out of the UX Workshop where
the support guys need this info. Having a customer make that change, restart the server,
to get what is pretty basic info creates a lot of friction in a support case, hence this
jira. Hopefully by default this info can be added back in to make supports life a lot
easier. Thoughts?

Added back in where? As usual you're assuming some basic level of functionality that
you haven't expressed. Nowhere in this report did you say anything which would imply
that DEBUG-level logging isn't enough. DEBUG-level logging in the org.jboss.as.config
category should already appear in the boot.log, thus meeting the only criteria you have
given. If you want something else, be specific.

Then currently in EAP 5/AS 5 the command line switches are written to the log, this seems
like a regression and hurts supports ability to quickly ascertain what is going on in an
environment. Do you not agree this is a regression?

there as a TRACE level message. We can add the JAVA_OPTS to print, as David suggests, as a
DEBUG message like the system properties do. We would likely not want it at any lower
