A prototype package has been added to the TS repository in workspace/adinn/orchestration
which supports orchestration of different activities in multi-threaded test cases.The
prototype works by injecting triggers for Event Condition Action (ECA) rules at arbitrary
points in the code under test. The ECA rules include primitives which enable sequencing,
synchronization, delay and abort of the threads executing the trigger class..
The prototype has been used to automate one of the test scenarios for XTS recovery and
will be developed to cover other cases. However, the tool is independent of the TS code
base and development and use of the tool for recovery testing will continue beyond the
4.4.0 GA release. So this JIRA is being rescheduled for completion after that date
.

A web archive test driver has been created in directory XTS/sar/tests. This can be
deployed to the AS to automate execution of a specific AT or BA test scenario at AS boot.
The tests can employ a simple scriptable AS/BA web service.
Several AT tests have been provided and can be selected for execution by setting a system
property recognised by the test driver. These tests can be configured to operate in
various configurations ranging from a single AS running client an all services to fully
distributed client, coordinator and web services.
A TOAST script has been included in directory dd/scripts which can be used in conjunction
with the test driver to test recovery for the current AT test scenarios. The script will
work with a single AS and with all combinations of distributed client/services.

Resolution: Done
There are now three basic test scenarios for this test suite which implement prepare an
dcommit for different numbers of participants. These can be use to test crash recovery in
various server configurations (colocated or distributed client/services/coordinator) by
employing the relevant TOAST scripts, one for single participant tests and another for
multiparticipant tests. Currently the tests scenarios need to be started by hand using the
Web form interface and the app server restarted by hand after crashing. This will
eventually be automated by QE.
