It is possible to use java 6 with jbossws (I use 3.02).
You have to add
-Djava.endorsed.dirs="%JBOSS_HOME%\lib\endorsed"
for Windows or
-Djava.endorsed.dirs=$JBOSS_HOME/lib/endorsed
for Linux/Unix.
into your startup script JAVA_OPTS.
