Regarding (1): Can you please try using the auto-installation to see if you can reproduce the problem? http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=146928 I tried installing manually via the GUI using both JBoss 4.2.3 and JBoss 5.0.0 and the problems went away. So it appears to me now, that the auto-installation procedure has a bug in this respect (it installs all the data sources instead of just the selected one). You can generate an auto-install XML as the last step of the installation process and then try using that script on another JBoss AS installation. If you can confirm this problem we should file a bug report. Regarding (2): Whether auto-installing or manually installing, I can't get the console to run on JBoss 5.
