The most stable version is the one within the JBPM Framework offered by Red Hat. You can find more information about this as well as access to that version via an evaluation license of the SOA-P platform here http://www.jboss.com/products/jbpm/ Otherwise from the community versions 3.2.6 I would say is stable not 4.x version which are still in development.
