Hi,
I need some help here.
I have a simple process with one human task. That human task work item has
all the necessary fields filled (actorid, id, name, etc.). When I start that
process it gets to that human task and fills everything it needs in the
database (Postgres) through hibernate. Up until here it works fine.
But then when I need to get a list of tasks for some particular user it
breaks because the task list is empty.
The code looks like this:

You will notice the inner join with '!!!' in front of it. That's the reason
why this list is always empty, because at this stage of human task there is
no actual owner, that field is NULL. I've tried different versions of
orm.xml (from 5.0.1, 5.1.0M1 and the latest from trunk) but they all produce
the same error.
Can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong (I'm also not very good
with hibernate).

you need to set a comment value for your task and this will work fine.
there is an open issue for it in the jira check it out.

r u sure ur log contains no more error or warnings....plz check
this may also b'coz of the organizationalentity table not having the
user with the name u provided in actor id

There are no errors in the log, it's just that this SQL is wrong and it
returns nothing when it should return at least one row (that row exists
there in the table). The actorId is definitely in the organizationalentity
table.
I'll check on Monday if I filled ALL the fields in the Human task.
Wouldn't it be weird if not filling the comment causes generating the wrong
SQL?

Still no resolution...
I was reading through gazillion rows of log output (I've put
log4j.logger.org.hibernate=debug and
log4j.logger.org.hibernate.hql.ast.AST=debug in log4j.properties) for the
last few days, and still can't figure it out.
It has nothing to do with my human task item (I populated all the fields).
The problem remains that hibernate generates the wrong SQL from
"TasksAssignedAsPotentialOwner" (named query as found in orm.xml). It
generates inner join on actualOwner which is null before somebody claims
that task, that way I'll never get the list of tasks that I need to claim.
I'm using hibernate 3.5.1FINAL and orm.xml from drools 5.1.0M1 (but it's the
same as in 5.0.1).
Could it be that I'm the only one with this problem?

This method used the "en-UK" for i18n reasons.. you need to set the field

Crap, it wasn't the wrong dialect.
I've checked both content and comment fields and they are set as "en-UK",
so
it wasn't that either.
If someone could just explain in what situation does
"TasksAssignedAsPotentialOwner" named query generates SQL with those inner
joins that I sent in the opening message.

OK, I "fixed" it by commenting out
<!-- t.taskData.actualOwner, -->
in the select clause of the named query ("TasksAssignedAsPotentialOwner")
and replacing it by another t.taskData.createdBy.
I'm aware that this is not a good solution, but at least it works now.

I have everything exactly the same as you (just like in the documentation),
the only difference being the SQL for fetching the tasks. You will notice
that mine has two inner joins, and yours hasn't.
Hmmmm, that makes me think, could it be something involving
org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect generating wrong SQL since I'm using
Postgres instead of H2.
I'll try something in that direction...

Did you see the "en-UK" parameter in the getTasksASPotentialOwner method?
are you setting that value to the content field?
