Pedro, This is a bug. I opened a JIRA for it: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBRULES-1491 It is fixed and committed and I added a test case. On a related note, I fixed quite a few problems related to Serialization in the last couple weeks and they will all be included in the 4.0.5 version.
