Hi All,
I'm trying to get the drools-guvnor web-app (5.4.0.Final) to work with
Oracle. I ran the admin tool to create the repository XML file and when the
app is started the tables are created and some data is put into some of
them. However I get an error message "400 sorry, technical error occurred".
The server.log file shows that an error occurred. The first part of the
stack trace is this:

Are you able to determine which object already existed?
Oracle's log should give some more information.
What version of Oracle are you using too?

Using Oracle11g. I don't know where to look for oracle logs so I don't have
the answer to your question.
Since the repository.xml file was generated by the drools-guvnor 5.4.0
application I was assuming that there should be no issues using it but
obviously it doesn't work. The fact that the tables were created and some
of them populated during the import tells me that the jackrabbit
configuration is probably OK and that the issue is in the drools code.
Apparently not everything was imported as no assets shows up in the
application after the import.

Guvnor uses JCR that provides the means to store its content in a database.
The generated repository configuration file defines table prefixes to try
to eliminate potential name clashes.
If importing into a schema that has pre-existing objects (that you cannot
destroy) you could try changing the default prefix value to ensure
uniqueness.
Importing into an empty schema would be an even better experiment (or
ensuring all existing objects are destroyed).
Not all tables have been created - hence the error you report, and the lack
of assets.

Hi Mike,
After changing the jvm settings in standalone.conf.bat to get rid of the out
of memory error, I actually had it work once without any errors and was able
to import the sample repository. Unfortunately I have not been able to
repeat that. I think the naming errors I saw were because I dropped the
tables but not the sequences. With a fresh database I'm back to getting the
error shown below when I click on the install sample repository button in
the dialog that pops up when the app is first started.
Do you have any recommendations on what I should change the JAVA_OPTS
settings to?

Hi Jim,
droolsjbpm-build-bootstrap\README.md contains some recommendations (all be
it not specifically for web-server configutation).
Building with maven we recommend: -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
Running from within Eclipse we recommend: -Xms512m -Xmx2048m
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m (although smaller values may be acceptable).

Hi Mike,
I actually bumped up the settings to -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m. These settings are in standalone-conf.xml and are for
running jboss which is being started using the standalone.bat command. No
builds or eclipse involved.
Anyway I'm still getting the out of memory exception when I tell the app to
create a sample repository in response to the dialog that pops up when
starting fresh. Same thing when I try to import one of the exported
repositories included with the jbpm-installer.
I watched the memory usage in performance monitor in the Task Manager while
it was doing the import and saw no increase in memory. The log file shows
the same as included in my prior post with the error coming from
org.drools.guvnor.client.rpc.ModuleService.installSampleRepository().
