Hi all,
I have some problem with KnowledgeAgent, maybe you can help me. I will list
these in the following
1) during change set loading I have the following error
(null: 1, 207): schema_reference.4: Failed to read schema document
'drools-change-set-5.0.xsd', because 1) could not find the document; 2) the
document could not be read; 3) the root element of the document is not
<xsd:schema>.
(null: 1, 207): cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element
'change-set'.
(null: 1, 216): schema_reference.4: Failed to read schema document

I suppose this is because change-set.xml can be reached. What is a correct
setting for xs:schemaLocation.
2) I would like scan also a directories in order to add knowledge to my rule
set if I add a new file. How I can do that?

1) The XML parser is not validating, so that's not a real issue. If you
want, the actual changeset file header is:

2) just use a "file:" URL pointing to the directory, but the folder will
have to contain resources of the same type
3) when set to true, a new KnowledgeBase instance will be created to apply
the changes, rather than updating the existing one. If you keep the old KB,
any object in a session obtained from that KB will be subject to the new
rules. You can also see the documentation.
4) the rule is declared in package com.sample, what about
DroolsKnowledgeAgentTest? If that's not in the same package, you'll need to
import it before you can declare a global DKAT.Service

I tried to change url in a directory in this way

rule1.drl file is in the directory sample.
The KnowledgeAgenda seems wait few seconds then the exception is raised
again.
There is a new anyway, the application do not stop. Why?

sorry, it seems that even the schemalocation I provided is outdated... The
xsd is actually included in the droolsjbpm-knowledge api, so it's part of
the distribution. It can also be found here

changeset xml which contains the URLresource pointing to your directory.
This URLresource will contain the "file://..." URL and the resourcetype of
the items contained in the directory (e.g. DRLs)
If you configure the KA to monitor for changes (and activate the relative
scanner services), the KA will stay "alive" until you stop such
thread-animated functionalities, so make sure to stop and dispose everything
when you are done. You can read the details in section 4.2.6 of the
documentation, which is dedicated to the KA.
As for issue #4, I tried to reproduce it. If the package is the same, it
should work... which version of drools are you using?

There is the use case where the changeset.xml is read from Guvnor - that is what we are
trying to do, and we don't have the option to specify where the schema lives.
Perhaps schema validation should be false by default instead of true.

For your issue #1, we were having the same problem. In
org.drools.xml.ExtensibleXmlParser it appears that 'isValidating' defaults
to true. This field is tied to the property 'drools.schema.validating'.
The only way we have been able to avoid this error is by setting
-Ddrools.schema.validating=false when we boot JBoss. We think the reason
we see this and others may not is due to our proxy server.

I am also seeing an "unexpected global" in working code when built in the
"buidling using code" paradigm when moved to use changesets and
knowledgeagents. I also see this problem reported on another, non-Drools
site.
My global is a simple java.util.ArrayList <String> and I can see it in the
debugger in Java. The knowledgebase.rulebase.globals is null, as is
statefulsession.globalResolver.map.table. The changeset has had its
resources reduced to
<resource source=''classpath:/call2OfFareFamilies.drl'
type='DRL' />
A possibly related issue is that, despite not being explicitly loaded a
Drools ruleflow in a project in my buildpath is being shown in the "rules"
window (as well as the rules from the file above.) Thoughts?

you until now because other stuff overwhelmed me literally at work.
Anyway I was going ahead using KnowledgeAgent, following your comments and
other suggestion. Now I am able to load rules applying change set with
KnowledgeAgent (thank you!!!), but honestly this is a poor success because,
even if when I change the rule KnowledgeAgent says "incremental build of
KnowledgeBase finished and in use" nothing changes.
It seems that changes at rules have no effect and it is pretty weird. I made
a maven project with eclipse to explain you better my problem. Is a simple
main. I am working for a better junit test. Anyway if you change the rule in
the folder knowledge you can test the problem by yourself.
Briefly I will explain the project:
