Other than that I was able to run both the Android and iOS applications and receive push
notifications.
I did not have ant installed which generated an error which was pretty clear, but perhaps
we should add something about this requirement unless it is mentioned elsewhere.
oh, right - I think it does not hurt to have 'Ant' in the requirements section
(install is also easy :-) -> brew install ant )
Cordova and Android will mostly
be developed on Windows machines.
I assue the non-command-line user will be fine just using JBDS - many Windows-based
developers never see a command line (DOS prompt).
And for those Windows-based devs who are comfortable with an command line - we can specify
what version of Ant they should have in their PATH and they should know what the PATH is.

everything and try out the application and receiving notifications by using Genymotion
(thanks to Erik and Passos for helping me set that up).

Tested aerogear-push-helloworld/ios and found the following minor issues:

dated information regarding sending push messages."
*
https://github.com/aerogear/aerogear.org/pull/350 "Minor spelling
corrections/suggestions"
Other than those I was able to follow the docs from scratch and run the app and
successfully received push notifications.

Hi team,
now that we have votes for the UPS and the java-sender (see [1] and [2]), I'd like to
start testing the release bundle.
As mentioned on IRC, the nominees for the testing, are:
* sblanc, cvasilak, dbevenius, lholmquist, lfryc and abstractj
Besides testing the UPS and sender staging repos, please test our quickstarts as well:
1)
https://github.com/aerogear/aerogear-push-helloworld/releases/latest (1.0.0.Beta2
tag)
2)
https://github.com/aerogear/aerogear-push-quickstarts
Regarding 2), please use the master branch, for now. There will be a .Beta2 tag as well,
once the open PRs are merged (and reviewed)
Most of the PRs have been merged and reviewed. Those that are open require some
additional work and it's perfectly fine to get them in for 1.0.0.Final.
Therefore here is the Beta2 release/tag
https://github.com/aerogear/aerogear-push-quickstarts/releases/tag/1.0.0....
Last but not least, please 'test' (review) the documentation as well, like our
guide on the UnifiedPush Server:
http://staging.aerogear.org/docs/unifiedpush/ups_userguide/
BTW. there is more doc on the new 'UPS doc center' :-)
http://staging.aerogear.org/docs/unifiedpush
Hopefully, by Wednesday we have an awesome 1.0.0.Beta2 and shortly after that we can go
to CODE_FREEZE for the 1.0.0.Final
Any thoughts ?
-Matthias
PS: besides the nominated folks, others are welcome to test the things as well :)
-Matthias
