Good news, I got it working. Looks like Docker had some weird permissions
under the hood for lucene. I also had to edit the pom to get dom4j loading
correctly.

yes, that's a bit outdated, and we did try to get a GSoC student to be
able to work on that project, regarding updates. But didn't get enough
slots.
