API differences in Hibernate ORM 5.1 vs 5.3

Hi,
There were lots of differences in the compatibility report, so as a first
step, I've excluded packages/classes that I considered SPI, internal, or
"grey area". This reduced the the differences to a more manageable amount.
You can see a summary of the incompatibilities along with suggested
mitigation at [1].
The report is attached to [1], along with a zip with instructions for
running the report.
I believe there are some "false positives" in the report, and I have
documented them in the section, "False Positives?".

IP banned from forum

Hi,
Is anyone banning users from the forum? I am getting "A ban has been
issued on your IP address."
I don't think banning by IP is a good strategy as many users will have
dynamic IPs from their hoster's shared pool, so it's a random game to
hit an IP previously banned due to some other user's spam.

New CI machine preview

however please keep these in mind:
- it's not the final machine: don't put too much effort in creating
nice build scripts as we'll reset it to clean state soon. We *might*
be able to store jobs defined so far, but we might choose not to.
- domain name should be coming: ci.hibernate.org ..not sure when, got
no replies so far from.
- authentication: just click on login, it will use OAuth2 to request
your identity via your GitHub account. Permissions to create new jobs,
edit existing jobs, run a build manually depend on your github account
be part of the Hibernate organization (or not, in which case you have
read only status)
At this stage I'd like to get a feeling if the hardware is powerful
enough, and also we need to select which other plugins we want to use,
I'm looking especially to:
- static analysis reports
- pull requests integration
both are relatively undefined, we can of course start simple and
improve later.. just checking this fits basic needs now.

JDK 22 Feature Freeze!

Welcome to the final OpenJDK Quality Outreach update of 2023!
JDK 22, scheduled for General Availability on March 19, 2024, is now in Rampdown Phase One (RDP1) [1]. At this point, the overall JDK 22 feature set is frozen (see the final list of JEPs integrated into JDK 22 below) and only low-risk enhancements might still be considered. The coming weeks should be leveraged to identify and resolve as many issues as possible, i.e. before JDK 22 enters the Release Candidates phase in early February 2024. So, we count on you to test your projects and help us make JDK 22 another solid release!

## JDK 23 Early-Access Builds
Given that JDK 22 is in Rampdown Phase, the initial JDK 23 EA builds are now also available [5]. These EA builds are provided under the GNU General Public License v2, with the Classpath Exception.

## JavaFX 22 Early-Access Builds
These are early-access builds of the JavaFX 22 [8] Runtime built from openjdk/jfx [9]. This allows JavaFX application developers to build and test their applications with JavaFX 22 on JDK 22. The JavaFX 22 API Javadocs are also available [10].
The JavaFX runtime is delivered as an SDK and as a set of jmods for each platform. You can use the SDK to compile and run JavaFX applications. You can use the jmods with jlink to create a JDK that includes the JavaFX modules, and optionally, your modular application. JavaFX 22 is designed to work with JDK 22,but it is known to work with JDK 17 and later versions.

Hibernate Search 7.0.0.Final is out!

Hello,
We are pleased to announce the release of Hibernate Search 7.0.0.Final.
Compared to Hibernate Search 6.2, this release upgrades its baseline to JDK
11 and Hibernate ORM 6.4, brings compatibility with Elasticsearch 8.10/8.11
and OpenSearch 2.10/2.11, and upgrades to Lucene 9.8.
Hibernate Search 7.0 also brings new features such as a brand-new Hibernate
Search BOM, experimental compatibility with Amazon OpenSearch Serverless,
compatibility with Hibernate ORM’s discriminator-based multi-tenancy, and
other bugfixes and improvements.
