backward compatibility. Do we want to dive on this subject? The later
is of course much harder even though relatively well defined for Java.
True. We probably should. I think too this breaks down along the same
lines delineated already. Meaning that I personally see the guidelines
differently here for API versus SPI across releases. I guess we should
come up with a formal declaration of what we want here.
