BTW, I see the TODO now.
Thinking about this some more, I think the TODO is more than just a nice
too have. I think it is absolutely needed. The actual use-case (from
which the JIRA test was distilled) uses property generation
(@org.hibernate.annotations.Generated). If I understand correctly,
as-is the generated value will not be available to @ManyToOne here
because it points to the synthetic property rather than the property
identified as generated.
Am I reading that part correctly?
If so, even in the case of 'referenced columns' coming from multiple
properties (aka we really need the synthetic component) we still have
this issue if any of the column's come from generated properties.
