Thanks for the tip osterday. Sequoia looks promising. This is the type of functionality necessary to allow JBMS to be an HA solution. In this case, it appears a MySQL cluster would not even be necessary as the updates are "multicast" to the db nodes at the Sequoia controler level. Surely there is a performance cost there, as pointed out by Andrew, but there will be such a cost for any HA solution. Don't get me wrong Andrew. I'm excited for JBMS and would love to use it but in my situation there is no use for a fast mail server that can't be redundant. The other solution could be to have each JBMS server use a db node which is in a MySQL cluster. The MySQL cluster will keep data/mail in sync. Load balancer in front of JBMS nodes or MX round-robin, as long as JBMS fails to handle the mail requests when it's jdbc connection is down so client can choose another MX or lb can choose another server. [Design of JBoss jBPM] - jbpm webapp separate release cycle?

I do not feel like spending time fixing things in the 3.1 webapp. I'm even more into making sure the webapp that currently is in the 3.2 branch works with a 3.1 core. This would give the opportunity to have separate release cycles just like the GPD has. It would probably attract more people to helping out. I think. Is it ok to 'won't fix' 3.1 webapp issues? [Design of JBoss jBPM] - Variable type definition in processdefinition.xml (yes again

There are several issues that address need for the variable type in the pd. Yes, I've seen that, but - loadidentities it is currently hard connected to hsqldb since it uses a specific config file (not configurable) - the identity component is not easily replaced (it is not pluggable as a service!!), people think it is (my experience from the forum) - people want to demonstrate jBPM with *their* db and initally do not care about the identity being there, they even 'like' it If I want to have it in mysql (the demo we have does NOT perform with hsqldb), I have to do 'a lot' of work manually. If it would be possible to e.g. pass a parameter to some ant tasks that say 'use mysql' and configure e.g. the properties for the correct database. The correct scripts for just that DB, including the (optional) identity scripts (another ddl?) and create a loadidentities that uses this db config to populate the database would be nice. So to summarize, the separation is nice and makes sence, but it should be easy to generate the identity ddl AND load some default (identities.xml) for ANY database. I'm looking at CRUD for the ui, but if CRUD is implemented for hsqldb, I think the other databases should not be forgotten. I already added these in my local tree but I STILL HAVE TO WRITE TESTCASES TO PREVENT GETTING SPANKED ;-). Will check these in over the weekend. Regarding the 'states' of a task, hardcoded would imo suffice for now. The started is interesting, it kind of allows the ok, I'm working on it, but do not leave the browser open. Yes... you're right... Adrian changed lots of places caching the proxy. org.jboss.ejb.Container would have to be rationalized also. Also, I still don't like the ClassLoader being created inside MBeanExt.create(), but that's just my personal preference ;-) . (this is just IMO). You always have to clear the proxy. Drill down into the point of the change described in JBAS-3013 with Adrian. The fix in this issue is to not be creating the timer service proxy on every usage.
