[Design of JBoss Portal] - password reset/reminder?
by dschlenk
I'm developing a portal and we need the ability for users to either get a password reminder or get their password reset. I'm not finding this functionality in the portal (or app server) but maybe I'm just not looking hard enough/google is failing me.
I know that if I wrote my own login module/used LDAP we could just use those tools' password reset functionality, but we have no need to use anything but the stock authentication module.
I know admin users can reset other users' passwords in the user portlet, and so I thought maybe I could write a web service that performed that action automatically if the right email address and some other personally identifiable info were validated, but I'd rather use someone else's hard work before I start working on something like that.
Anyone know of any existing solutions?
Btw I'm using portal v2.4 and am kind of stuck with that version for the time being.

[Design of JBoss Build System] - Re: Maven dependencies still not working properly.
by pgier
I changed the container pom to exclude it's transitive dependency (through jbossxb) on jboss-common-core. This seems to give the correct dependencies at compile time.
To find this, I used "mvn project-info-reports:dependencies" which creates an html page that shows the dependency tree.
I also used "mvn dependency:analyze" which currently gives me these warnings:

I'm going to update the dependencies in container to clean up these warnings.

[Design the new POJO MicroContainer] - Re: Annotation processing

I'll have a look.
Since I still have to add javadocs and definitely improve logging.
But using debugger sounds like fun. :-)

MetaData has all the required functionality - as MetaDataRetrieval?
Scoping as in PreInstall stuff that we did?

| It's only real use at the moment is in AOP to find out if there are instance annotations.

| instead.

Once I'm done, I'll try to remove it.
