The idea of JBDEPLOY-16 was not to provide a specific mechanism for adding dependencies to a deployment but to provide some helper for other deployers that want to do it. e.g. OSGi has service dependencies at the deployment level if you use the declaritve service model If you want to provide an example of such a thing that uses text files that is ok.
