drools-compiler 5.1.0.SNAPSHOT: transitive deps not set up right?

I have a Maven project that depends on drools-compiler 5.1.0.SNAPSHOT.
When I run mvn dependency:tree on it, I notice that the compile scope
dependencies used by drools-compiler are not listed in the output (actually,
same for drools-core):

One of my log messages seems to indicate that drools-compiler does not have
a POM:

jboss (https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public)
The Maven guys suspect a bad deployment. Is this something you folks need
to fix, or something that I've somehow messed up?

Accessing collections in conditional statements (inside/outside working memory)

I'm having trouble understanding how collections are accessed in conditions
and what this means in terms of perfomance. My app has concepts with a
unidirectional composite relation. Making it bidirectional, as suggested in
other posts, is really not preferred. This is the most natural model for
this business.

With this set-up, I can think of only two rules to check for the existence
of a child and only one to check for the absence (without starting to check
for the size of a populated list, which seems farfetched and unreadable):
rule "01 - Parent has child - using contains"

$child : Child( )
Parent( children contains $child )
then
// do stuff
end
rule "02 - Parent has child - using from"
when
$parent : Parent( )
Child( ) from $parent.children
then
// do stuff
end
rule "03 - Parent does not have child - using from"

1) Is the cost of the "contains" in rule 01 the same as the "from" in rule
02? Why (not)? If so, inserting the Child facts in the working memory seems
not necessary.
2) I read in other posts and the user guide that putting all facts in
working memory should be faster. Is it correct to say, that the perfomance
gain will only be achieved when not using the "from" CE and thus only by
using a bi-directional relation between Parent and Child?
In any case, it seems to me that stuffing child objects into working memory
shouldn't be the concern of a client calling a "rule service". So should
this be more optimal, I'd make the rules insert the facts using an
agenda/ruleflow to make sure everything is inserted before doing the
business stuff.

Smooks error

Hi,
I am having a problem working with smooks.
I downloaded smooks 1.3.1 from the site and included all the .jar files inside lib directory to my drools project class path.
I imported :
import org.milyn.Smooks;
import org.milyn.SmooksException;
import org.milyn.SmooksUtil;
And my code which is not getting resolved is :
Smooks smooks = new Smooks("smooks-config.xml");
DroolsSmooksConfiguration conf = new DroolsSmooksConfiguration("",null);
DroolsSmooksStatelessSession smooksSession = new DroolsSmooksStatelessSession(session,smooks,conf);
I am unable to resolve DroolsSmooksConfiguration and DroolsSmooksStatelessSession.
If I run it anyways I get this error stack:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems:
DroolsSmooksConfiguration cannot be resolved to a type

how to write a single constraint in split node

Hi,
i'm kind of new to Drools and still trying to build a simple process.
I'm trying to understand if (and how) it is possible to write a 'rule'
constraint inside a split node that won't require
writing the opposite rule for the 2nd target node.
for e.g. if i have a split node with 2 target nodes,
and my 1st constraint is "Url( score > 90)" -> this will take me to target
node 1.
i want that split node will know to go target node 2 in case the score is
less or equal to 90,
without the need to explicitly write the 2nd constraint as "Url (score <=
90)".
is that possible?

Smooks error

Hi guys,
I am using Smooks for XML parsing.
I have created my smooks-config file and downloaded smooks v.1.3 from the
site and added all the .jar files to my classpath.
Also, I used eclipse plugin for Smooks and updated it.
Still I am unable to resolve DroolsSmooksConfiguration. It does not seem to
be present.
I do not understand which other dependencies should I account for??
I am using latest eclispe for jave EE developers.
my code is as follows:
Smooks smooks = new Smooks("smooks-config.xml");
DroolsSmooksConfiguration conf = new
DroolsSmooksConfiguration("order",null);
DroolsSmooksStatelessSession smooksSession = new
DroolsSmooksStatelessSession(session,smooks,conf);
I was able to import org.milyn.Smooks. not the others. I have
drools-compiler,drools-core and eclipse.jdt.core jar files already in my
classpath.
Please help!!!
