Hi All I'm new to Drools, I will build a very large Knowledge Base, let's say it will be larger than 100GB, the files will be stored in a distribute database, so can Droools supply this large Knowledge Base? Any solution? Thank you very much. CheersRamon

Error using drools.net for web application

I have seen a few posts on this, but nothing that seems to solve it. I have used drools.net working successfully locally in a windows app with the following code: PackageBuilder builder = new PackageBuilder(); Stream stream = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetManifestResourceStream("MinimalDroolsForm.SimpleRules.drl"); builder.AddPackageFromDrl("MinimalDroolsForm.SimpleRules.drl", stream); Package pkg = builder.GetPackage(); ruleBase = RuleBaseFactory.NewRuleBase(); ruleBase.AddPackage(pkg); workingMemory = ruleBase.NewWorkingMemory(); workingObj = new CustomerRecord(); etc. However, when I try something similar in a web app, I get the following error at builder.AddPackageFromDrl("DroolsApp.SimpleRules.drl", stream); : "The invoked member is not supported in a dynamic assembly" I am using all of the following assemblies: 1) drools-3.0 2) drools-dep 3) drools.dotnet 4) IKVM.GNU.Classpath 5) IKVM.Runtime Additionally, My rule is very simple: package DroolsApp rule "OldCustomer" when cust : CustomerRecord( DaysSinceLastOrder > 90, Status != "Re-Active" ) then true; end I am targeting the .NET Framework 4, and running on Windows7, under IIS7. I'm not very experienced with Drools but have some Java code that dynamically loads/unloads rules from a KnowledgeBase. This globals.drl file also defines NormalizedEvent as follows: declare NormalizedEvent @role( event ) end The second rules file (defaultRules.drl) contains default rules for aging out old / stale events. The third rules file has rules additional rules that are specific to a policy being dynamically deployed to our application. The compilation and loading process treats "globals.drl" as common "header" file. That is, rules files are pre-pended with globals.drl before they are compiled. For example: String globals = readDrlfile("globals.drl"); String newRules = readDrlfile("rulesToAdd.drl"); knowledgeBuilder.add(ResourceFactory.newReaderResource(new StringReader(globals + newRules))); if (knowledgeBuilder.hasErrors()) { throw exception ... } // No exception so compile succeeded --- BTW, it's using JANINO knowledgeBase.addKnowledgePackages(knowledgeBuilder.getKnowledgePackages()); // ERROR The first compile and load (globals.drl + defaultRules.drl) succeeds but I get this exception when I try to compile and load an additional file (globals.drl + additionalRules.drl). This code was also written by someone not very familar with Drools but it was working in 5.2 and now I need to get it working with 5.3 Looks like there were some significant code changes to AbstractRuleBase between these two releases. Any thoughts or suggestion here would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with Domain Specific Language in eclipse

I am just trying to learn DSL and have immediately run into issues. I have a simple DSL in the file named XEasyApp.dsl : *[condition][]{value} is an invalid Boolean={value} not in("T","t","1","F","f","0")* and then a simple DSLR in the file named Test.dslr: * package com.onfs.easyapp.rules import com.onfs.easyapp.EasyApp expander XEasyApp.dsl rule "EasyApp Insured is Citizen Validation" when $ea : EasyApp(priIns_eaInsuredIsCitizenInd is an invalid Boolean) then $ea.addError(drools.getRule().getName()); end* I get the expected expansion in the DRL Viewer: package com.onfs.easyapp.rules import com.onfs.easyapp.EasyApp rule "EasyApp Insured is Citizen Validation" when $ea : EasyApp(priIns_eaInsuredIsCitizenInd not in("T","t","1","F","f","0")) then $ea.addError(drools.getRule().getName()); end There are no Red X's when I view Test.dslr in the editor, however a problem shows up in the Problems area below: *Description Resource Path Location Type [13] Unable to expand: $ea.addError(drools.getRule().getName()); Test.dslr /TermXpressRules/src/main/rules Unknown Drools Error*

Many to many matching rules implementation in Drools

Folks, I am recently working on a BI project which is doing reconciliation between repository and accounting. I'm using Drools 5.1.1 to maintain all these matching rules. One scenario i have no clue to implement in Drools is that I need to find x transactions from repository, to match y transactions from accounting, while existing repository transactions and accounting transactions are bigger than x and y. Listing all packages present in gunvor repository

How Add all packages to KnowledgeBuilder.add(drl or pkg or xsd,..);

Hi All, Thanks in Advance to one and all, U have helped me lot , Please can give me some idea to resolve from this senario.. we are giving (package created in guvnor) as newUrlResource(url,type) to add to kbuilder, ... Opportunistic Backward Chaining

I saw that there is an open issue for Opportunistic Backward Chaining: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBRULES-3272 While I want to start working on this topic during my PhD thesis my question is if there is any work done on this? Is there any possibility to contribute in solving this issue? Of course I know that there is already Prolog Style Query Based Backward Chaining implemented.

Unclosed string results in NullPointerException

JBoss Developer Studio The following line in a DRL results in a NullPointerException of unknown location EasyApp(eaPremiumMode not in ("A", "S", "Q", "ABC", "SS)) Note that the last string on the line is not closed. The eclipse plug-in didn't show the problem clearly (by turning subsequent lines green) - it took a long time to track down (commenting out rules until the error went away).
