Hi everyone, I have been working out with Drools, and a few more doubts have appeared. In Guvnor, each rule is defined inside a package. When you create a new rule you must define the package where it belongs. Guvnor doesn't create any kbase, you can see a package (in Guvnor) like a DRL file split in different parts: the imports, the globals, each rule, etc. So Guvnor is only in charge of maintain different versions of that DRLs. 1) Can this be done dynamically? I meant, will the workflow change as soon as I save the new rules on any pre-existing package? If I declare the entities in Guvnor, this will use the "declare" keyword to define a New Data Type. Now... 2) Would this allow me to add workflow steps and rules as well as general data entities? and, the last one 3) What should I have in me interface to be able to use Drools as me rules engine? I don't get it yet... And if you can recomend me any web site with information about all this things it'll be nice. Thanks Carlos S. Moreno

StatefulKnowledgeSession Vs StatefulSession

I used a KnowledgeBuilder ro read the resources (DSL & DSLR files) Then created a KnowledgeBase and created a StatefulKnowledgeSession out of the KnowledgeBase. The StatefulKnowledgeSession was used to start the process and fire all rules. Then I realized I was not able to access the RuleBase from StatefulKnowledgeSession. So, now I create a RuleBase, then a PackageBuilder, add the resources to the packageBuilder, then add the package to the RuleBase and create a StatefulSession out of the RuleBase. This statefulsession is used to start the process and fire all rules. Can someone explain to me whats the difference in the above 2 methods of firing the rules. FAIL - getProcessInstances() from persisted StatefulKnowledgeSession

Hi everybody. I configured the session persistence and persisted an instantiated process. When I get the session from the database and use the method getProcessInstances(), it returns an empty collection. But, when I call getProcessInstance(1), and 1 is the InstanceId of the ProcessInstanceInfo (table that contains the process instance), I get the correct process instance. Is this a bug? See the code below. statefulSession = JPAKnowledgeService.loadStatefulKnowledgeSession(sessionId, knowledgeBase, null, environment); Collation<ProcessInstance> processInstances = statefulSession.getProcessInstances(); // FAIL - return empty collection ProcessInstance processInstance = statefulSession.getProcessInstance(1); // OK - return the process instance Regards, Anderson

Problem with CommandFactory.newStartProcess in 5.2 M1

There appears to be a problem with CommandFactory.newStartProcess in Drools 5.2 M1. If I do this: String someString = "Some String"; Map<String, Object> variables = new HashMap<String, Object>(); variables.put("someString", someString); List<Command<?>> cmds = new ArrayList<Command<?>>(); cmds.add(CommandFactory.newStartProcess("SampleFlow", variables)); cmds.add(CommandFactory.newFireAllRules()); The default value for the someString variable in SampleFlow does NOT get updated. However, if I do this: String someString = "Some String"; Map<String, Object> variables = new HashMap<String, Object>(); variables.put("someString", someString); List<Command<?>> cmds = new ArrayList<Command<?>>(); StartProcessCommand cmd = new StartProcessCommand(); cmd.setProcessId("SampleFlow"); cmd.setParameters(variables); cmds.add(cmd); cmds.add(CommandFactory.newFireAllRules()); the someString variable does get updated. However, StartProcessCommand is not intended to be used (Discouraged Access), so I don't want to use this solution. Dan

Drools Server : Basic Authentication

Has anyone configured basic authentication on Drools Server. I've setup the web.xml with a security constraint. Testing with a GET on the wsdl works fine. When I POST with a soap message, xstream throws an exception. This seems to be because the camel route with DroolsPolicy is passing the credentials straight through. I am at section 3.4 and got the attached exception while I run the maven command: mvn -Declipse -Ddocumentation clean install -DlocalEclipseDrop=/folder/jboss-drools/local-Eclipse-drop-mirror 2). Decision tables - multiple params to function over multiple columns

Hi, Currently I've got a consequence on a decision table that works like this: callHelperFunction( $1, $2, $handleFromConditions); where the first two parameters are strings, $1 being a code, $2 a description. which means that you get the table holding things like: "DC X223,This is the description text which can be fairly wordy" That works just fine! However: For ease of maintenance, the risk analysts want the input split over two columns, so is there any way of doing this? I'm trying to avoid inserting a temporary fact then cleaning it up after, if possible, as I can't see that being particularly good for performance. Drools flow persistence

Hi, I'm trying building a simple test case with drools flow (see in attachment). My flow is like this : Start -> print a message -> human task -> print a message The idea of the test is to start the flow and persist the task in the first part. The second part resume the flow using JPAKnowledgeService.loadStatefulKnowledgeSession My project is using h2 for tasks and processes persistence. I'm using a custom human task handler, it basicaly persist the task using the org.drools.task.service.TaskService injected via spring quite like the WSHT implementation without all the client/server stuff It works fine except when a want to assign actorId via a rule. To do that, I'm trying to reuse the assignment.drl and workflow_rules.drl from the drools examples. I red somewhere that i need to set 'drools.advancedProcessRuleIntegration=true' in drools.rulebase.conf to make it work (is that correct ?).
