Dear list,
I am using spring to configure drools inside my application. In 5.5.0 I used:
<drools:resource id="resource1" type="DRL"
source="classpath:Sample.drl" />
<drools:kbase id="kbase1">
<drools:resources>
<drools:resource ref="resource1" />
</drools:resources>
<drools:configuration>
<drools:mbeans enabled="true" />
<drools:event-processing-mode mode="STREAM" />
</drools:configuration>
</drools:kbase>
<bean id="ruleTemplate"
class="a.b.c.KnowledgeTemplateImpl">
<constructor-arg ref="kbase1" />
</bean>
I was able to get a new session with the following code:
public class KnowledgeTemplateImpl {
private KnowledgeBase knowledgeBase;
protected StatefulKnowledgeSession newStateFulSession() {
return knowledgeBase.newStatefulKnowledgeSession();
}
protected StatelessKnowledgeSession newStatelessSession() {
return knowledgeBase.newStatelessKnowledgeSession();
}
KnowledgeBase has become deprecated now. Any pointers to its replacement? Or should I just
RTFM :)

In Drools 6 the word 'knowledge' has been replaced by 'kie' (Knowledge Is

Yes I found that out. :-) (using 5.5.0.Final at the moment)
two points
- Marking a stateless knowledge base created a stateful one.
- For v6 (if you are in the area :-) --> can the spring beans take in the
"custom" sheet Compiler ?
I found I wanted to use the Custom Matrix Sheet Compiler but the Spring config didn't
support it.. I started down the road of unpicking the FactoryBeans's (on v6) but
backed out when I found they didn't match

The 6.0 stuff is still very raw. It's why there has been no public announcement, we
are are just publishing the binaries, for a "close circle" of people to try out.
Or those with patience.

Hmmm, maybe I am doing it wrong, but it seems this:
<drools:kbase id="kbase1">
<drools:resources>
<drools:resource ref="resource1" />
</drools:resources>
</drools:kbase>
actually works.
But I guess the above snippet will eventually be replaced by:
<drools:kiebase id="kbase1">
<drools:resources>
<drools:resource ref="resource1" />
</drools:resources>
</drools:kiebase>
and that probably doesn't work yet.
