Adding back the list. To answer Martijn: personally I don't know the answer, but it sounds like an excellent idea to implement that, if it's not possible already. Keep in mind that Hibernate might need to generate multiple SQL statements per operation. The other option is to plug in a org.hibernate.resource.jdbc.spi.StatementInspector.
