Few notes after completing more test cycles. - OOME can be easily reproduced when continuously increasing server load. OOME is the first error the server fails with. (it is not the case with 4.0.5) - OOME error can be reproduced using high constant load but not if using low load. If the server is loaded with ~ 1/2 of failing configuration, it can run for hours without throwing OOME. It lead to question if it should be treated as an error? Or is it just reaching of server limits? Hi First of all thank you for your fast response. But I have to state the following: For sure, we do have specified <security-role-ref> tags in the "portlet.xml" file of our "testportlet.war" portlet application. Otherwise the "isUserInRole()" question does not work at all. But nevertheless it is necessary to specify additionally the "real" role in the "web.xml" of the JACC context (in a <security-role> tag). You can verify this in a simple test. So your statement means that one can never deploy a portlet application as a complete package. It will be always necessary to adjust the "portal-server.war/WEB-INF/web.xml" and/or "portal-wsrp.sar/WEB-INF/web.xml" if your portlets use the "isUserInRole()" method. Looking at your code attached to the JIRA, it looks like the right approach (nice job), I just have a few comments: - If a server is low on memory, the exception thrown should indicate *which* server was low. - The package for your new classes should be org.jboss.tools.ant.taskdefs not org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs - Are you following JBoss code convetions? http://docs.jboss.org/process-guide/en/html/coding.html - You add this in the jboss-test project here: https://svn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/projects/test/trunk/ - Testing - There should be a "test-mem-check-runner" in the jboss-test project. This target should test the following scenarios: - two servers with plenty of memory - two servers: one low, one normal - two servers: both low - Have someone else reproduce your test results after committing to thee test project. Deployment - Once the tests pass and someone has reviewed it, commit it to /trunk. Once it has been in /trunk for a week, we can talk about deployment to other branches. Like Scott said, we are gradually moving projects to maven. Once a project is built with Maven instead of ant, the release artifacts will always be uploaded to the jboss repository. We are also looking into automatic synchronization with the central maven repo, so that those artifacts stay up to date too. You can also create Jira issues either in the projects that you are using, or in the JBBUILD project, and I will try to prioritize the conversion of those projects. The WebIntegrationUnitTestCase is now in descent shape. Of the 4 errors 2 are minor JBAS-3883, JBAS-4253 and the other 2 are issues with the new VDF not failing bad deployments.
