[Design of Messaging on JBoss (Messaging/JBoss)] - XATestBase::testRecoverOnXA

When calling session.recover, the message was being ACKed only when session.close was called. Even when you don't have anything to recover, SessionAspect::handleRecover was setting recoverCalled to true, and handlePostDeliver wouldn't be able to ACK anything. This would be okay if the customer aways called session.close afterward... but it happens that for instance when using JCA the session is never closed (well.. at least for the life cycle of a testcase). So.. I'm now only setting recoverCalled if there is anything to be recovered, so this would be okay. I have added XATestBase::testRecoverOnXA with an expected behavior. We could change this anyway we want as long this test works. [Design of JBoss jBPM] - JbpmSession deprecated, but can't find JbpmSessionContext

The javadocs tell me that org.jbpm.db.JbpmSession has been deprecated, and that I should use org.jbpm.tc.db.JbpmSessionContext instead. However, I don't have that package or class name anywhere in the javadocs that I got with the 3.2.GA release. What am I missing? Is that a bogus message? I saw a previous posting on this forum, but didn't see a reponse to that question either. [Design of the JBoss EJB Container] - Is the metadata/type-mapping in -ds.xml really optional?

I see that the metadata/type-mapping is optional in -ds.xml and the defaults/datasource-mapping is also optional in standardjboss-cmp.xml. Looking at the code the type-mapping is obtained from one of these 3 places. 1. user defined in jbosscmp-jdbc.xml 2. defaults/datasource-mapping in standardjboss-cmp.xml 3. TypeMappingMetaData from the datasource metadata mbean. If 2 and 3 are optional and the user does not define 1 how is the type-mapping obtained? Also without the metadata/type-mapping in -ds.xml the TIMERService doesn't start up. Do we use server/conf/standardjaws.xml anymore for cmp configurations? I see standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml being referenced at all places. If standardjaws.xml is not being used we should remove it from the distribution. Version range restrictions are handled at a higher policy layer. e.g. com.acme.something:1.2.3 could be something like: repository/acme/something/1.2.3/something.jar The details are not relevant to the dumb classloader which is just told what to do i.e. in the example above: Pseudo-code: | policy = new VFSClassLoaderPolicy("repository/acme/something/1.2.3/something.jar"); | policy.setExportedPackages("com.acme.something"); | Concurrently there could also be | policy2 = new VFSClassLoaderPolicy("repository/acme/something/1.2.4/something.jar"); | policy2.setExportedPackages("com.acme.something"); | Which of these gets wired as your delegates/imports will be decided at the higher level. The higher level in our case will be the MainDeployer with a new classloading dependency implementation provided by the MC, defined by a jboss-classloader.xml (if it is not an osgi deployment).
