[JBoss jBPM] - How to invoke and monitor a Jbpm BPEL process in Java app?

We need to invoke BPEL workflows from our java applications. My understanding is that we deploy a BPEL workflow and expose it as a web service, then we use standard way to invoke the deployed web service in a java application. Am I correct on that? I am also struggling to figure out how we can get BPEL process status information in our java application. Is that right the only thing we can do is to access logs? That is not easy to use for our applications. We hope to be able to start, control and monitor BPEL processes from our java applications. Any interface we can use to monitor BPEL processes programmatically in java app? Thanks in advance for your input! How do I find all running process instances for a process definition? I tried GraphSession.findProcessInstances(long processDefinitionId), but this method returns all process instances including those that have ended (potentially a very expensive query). I found the following named query in hibernate.queries.hbm.xml. This is exactly what I need, but I cannot find any method in the source that uses this query. | <query name="GraphSession.findAllRunningProcessInstancesWithProcessName"> | <![CDATA[ | select pi | from org.jbpm.graph.exe.ProcessInstance as pi | where pi.processDefinition.name = :processDefinitionName | and pi.end = null | order by pi.start desc | ]]> | </query> | | Can someone tell me how I can leverage this query? I want to change the execution path from one task node to another. However, there is no transition between nodes (it's a strange requirement for the application: to be able to make arbitrary state jumps). I tried getting the Token and changing the node to which it points. However, this causes a lot of exceptions with task instances found on the old node. There is an easier way to do this? if there is no jbpm-jpdl.jar somewhere, you have no jbpm at all. So if you were able to run something before and after that you added jbpm-identity and jbpm-jpdl.jar to WEB-INF/lib, there must already have been a jbpm-jpdl.jar (or older version) somewhere which e.g. does not have access to the identity jar. Might just be a classloader scoping issue.
