[JBoss jBPM] - Re: Scheduler and asynchronous flow in in web app
by jeklund
Thanks again Ronald!
After further debugging I found that the reminder-tag sends a reminder every 30 secs both with and without the additional JobExecutorLauncher. So the timer "works" in some aspect. I guess Seam starts the scheduler without leaving anything in the log.. sorry for not testing properly before posting.
The task causing the error is a nester Seam Pageflow and was started with
@In private Pageflow pageflow;
|
| @StartTask
| public String startTask() {
| pageflow.begin(TaskInstance.instance().getName());
| initializeProcessVariables();
| return SECUREPAGESDIR + TaskInstance.instance().getName() + ".jsp";
| }
and ended with
<page name="showIncompleteTasksApprove" view-id="/secure/taskList.jsp">
| <end-task transition="Approve"/>
| <redirect/>
| </page>
which results in

My theory is that, Seam has in some way made the jbpmContext invisible for the nested action endTask and this causes CancelTimerAction to fail in retrieving a reference to the scheduler-service. Without the reminder-tag, ending the task works fine.
1. Is there some way of propagating this context all the way through the pageflow?
2. Would it be better/possible to write a custom action for ending the task, save the result and use a decision to branch on the result after the task is done?
These questions might be better suited for a Seam forum, but I'm not sure what is jBPM and what is Seam here..
Best Regards,
Johan

[JBoss jBPM] - jPBM designer doesn't work
by craquerpro
Hi,
I'm evaluating jPBM. I want to try now the designer. I have managed to install successfully the designer in Eclipse 3.4.1 (the latest one).
The installatation has been normal.
Now I have created a sample jPBM Process project with the wizard.
It has created under the folder src/main/jpdl/simple this file structure:
- processdefinition.xml
- gpd.xml
When I click the processdefinition.xml file a standard XML editor opens. I close and force to use the "jPBM Graphical process designer" editor, and the following happens:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.jbpm.gd.common.editor.Editor.getSemanticElement(Unknown Source)

at org.eclipse.swt.custom.BusyIndicator.showWhile(BusyIndicator.java:70)
at org.eclipse.ui.internal.WorkbenchPage.openEditor(WorkbenchPage.java:2668)
Is this normal?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
David

[JBoss jBPM] - Need the full set of JBPM 3.3.0 SQL scripts for SQL Server 2
by sabyasachi.seng
Hi,
I have set up JBPM 3.3.0 with SQL Server 2005 & JBOSS 4.2.3 GA. I ran the SQL scripts that were part of the release under database folder in the JBPM 3.3.0 release version. I had to change the .hbm.xml files inside the location server\default\deploy\jbpm\jbpm-enterprise-bundle.ear to make it point to my defined schema.
Earlier I faced an error whenever I tried to deploy the process archive as it was calling the JBPM_PROCESSDEFINTION table directly without a schema name & rightly so. So I made changes in jbpm-identity.jar & jbpm-jpdl.jar to make it point to my defined schema eg <schema_name>.JBPM_PREOCESSDEFITNITION. & the process got deployed successfully.
Now when I try to login through the jbpm console, I can't enter since there is no corresponding table & data that is created in SQL Server 2005 for the same.
I found in some of the sites that there are some tables eg JBPM_ID_USER,JBPM_ID_MEMBERSHIP but I didn't find this as a part of the sql script with this release.
Where can I get the full set of JBPM 3.3.0 SQL scripts for SQL Server 2005?

[JBoss jBPM] - Re: jBPM/Spring/jUnit

"kukeltje" wrote : btw, why do you do a leave node in an assignment handler? That is realy wrong.Hang-over from my early experiments with jBPM. I think without it, although the process starts, it gets 'stuck' in the start state.
Over the past 9 months my understanding of jBPM has improved a lot, and I'm begining to tackle the various issues (like that node exit) that are left over from early experiments - hence why I'm trying to get some jUnit tests going for the jBPM usage in the app.
All I was hoping for with this thread was to get some ideas as to why the DelegationException is thrown when I invoke createStartTaskInstance() from a jUnit test, but NOT when the same code is run as part of the normal running of the app.
I had assumed that the range of possible causes for that exception had probably been experienced by someone. I'm still hoping that someone will give me some guesses or suggestions for investigation.
