The XAResources are disposed of at the end of commit processing. afterCompletions run after that, hence the name. So, no XAResource to hook in to at recovery time. Given that the remote comms protocol is one way, you need a top down discovery mechanism to identify orphaned afterCompletions in a still running subordinate during recovery of a previously crashed parent, or some timeout like mechanism in the child.
