Which is the default in JAXB as well, IIRC. We would be looking at dropping the latest version of remoting into AS 4.0.x. I just remember Thomas and Ovidiu having a discussion some time back about how this breaks stuff. The first patches has been submitted. JBAS-2629 -- updated to provide more fail-safe implementation JBAS-4339 -- entitybridge2 patch JBAS-4340 -- key generators patch The LIMIT/OFFSET patch will be submitted after further internal testing - properly next week. We will see if we can provide additional key generator implementations - Hsqldb and PostgreSQL have been tested internally. Thanks for your help Alex. The WS remoting dependency is well isolated. I thought a little bit about that idea, and find it better and better. With a map containing "implementation specific add-ons" in the result, we could also build Interceptors or something like that which for example adds the process-image or whatever to the result and the client can use the information if it is present and he wants to use it...
