I guess what I"m saying is should du.getDeploymentContext().getRoot() return the top level archive? or the actual archive that makes up the context? actually, what i mean is DeploymentContext.getRoot().getName() returns the .sar file. Maybe the sub DeploymentUnit.getDeploymentContext().getRoot() is returning the .sar VirtualFile instead of the actual .jar nested within the .sar? Not sure what the behavior is supposed to be... I'm using du.getDeploymentContext().getRoot() to get a VirtualFile I can scan for classes with annotations. I think the deployment request is for each jar within the SAR. The DeploymentContext.getVirtualFile().getName() returns the .sar file though. I was wondering why a org.jboss.mail.message.Message is being passed in instead of a org.jboss.mail.message.Mail. Afterall, the interface is MailListener and not MessageListener and also the Message interface does not have any method so the Listener class has no other option then to cast it to something else. This may be splitting hairs but this does not seem like a good API to me. Any comments anybody? Kosmos implements the standard portlet behaviour, so it's a JBoss Portal configuration issue. I'd suggest studying the JBP documentation. Are your other portlets restored after restarting the container? Me again, Basically due to the fact that attachments were not supported at the time I asked, I decided in Dec 2005 not to go for JBoss Mail Server but use another open source mail server. All is working fine except for one thing and that is why I am reconsidering JBoss Mail Server. How about revisiting the most important of the initial questions and answering a new questions that relates to the problem I am having with the current open source mail server. 1. Does JBoss Mail already handle attachments? 2. Will JBoss allow me to access the complete bcc list (e.g. will a custom MailListener implementation class be able to read the complete bcc list)? I changed AbstractParsingDeployer to have an abstract parse(DeploymentUnit unit, VirtualFile file, T root) (not checked in yet). This introduces the same override in the ObjectModelFactoryDeployer, JAXPDeployer and SchemaResolverDeployer. This only makes sense in the ObjectModelFactoryDeployer in terms of having direct support for using the root. The jbossxb methods taking a SchemaResolver used by SchemaResolverDeployer do not take an existing root(although I don't know why they could not). The JAXPDeployer would have to be expanded to include a parse(DeploymentUnit unit, VirtualFile file, Document document, T root) to effectively propagate the root. Do these changes sound ok?
