IMO JBPM is the wrong approach. Try to keep it simple and external dependencies to a minimum. RM sequence management is really simple and actually only knows a few conditions. RM source and RM destination just figure out the delta and make the source resubmit the missing messages. Looking at the overall picture (like for instance the way a RM destination treats incomplete sequence termination) I agree that it might be regarded as a state machine or could be desinged as such. But IMO this is an implementation detail and JBPM probably adds too much overhead for too little gain. You could probably come up with a simple state machine yourself. Regarding the persistence: I think the only relevant bit to this is the need for a pluggable persistence mechanism. In the beginning some JDBC persistence manager might be sufficient. You may want to take alook at JBossMQ for instance, how they designed it. I thought the EJB3 IsLocalInterceptor checks to see if the EJB container exists in the VM and if it does, routes to that EJB Container. This allows the IsLocalInterceptor to be a singleton, and for the request ot be routed directly to the EJB Container bypassing Remoting entirely. I'm studying the specs to, mainly the ws-rm at the moment. At the same time, I'm thinking about ways to implement it, high level that is. Since the sequences etc do need some kind of persistency and there is some kind of flow, I'm thinking of using jBPM (jpdl?) for this. Especially since I will eventually need ebMS 3.0 as well, which uses ws-rm. Any thoughts on this? Apart from that the codebase for a given tag is currently the same as for the jbossts build, which is compiled with jdk 5 and intended for AS 5.0 Building that version is a bit more work, so I don't do it for every CR, which is why it's currently lagging slightly. You can use the jbossts14 build in AS 5, but you won't get support for JDBC 3 specific methods in the transactional database driver. Yes, JacORB 2.3 isn't supported by the JTS component of TS at this time because of incompatibilities with the way it handles persistent IORs. This shouldn't be a problem for the purely local JTA implementation, since it has no dependency on CORBA. Actually the error was do to an upgrade of jacorb I was testing. There are some incompatibilties with the current iiop integration layer and jacorb 2.3.0. What is the difference between the jbossts and jbossts14 releases? I thought jbossts14 was just the jdk14 compatible version, but there are not equivalent versions under each: | [starksm@succubus jboss]$ ls jbossts | 4.2.2.GA/ CVS/ snapshot/ | [starksm@succubus jboss]$ ls jbossts14/ | 4.2.3.CR2/ 4.2.3.CR3/ CVS/ snapshot/ | jbossas4.2 included jbossts14-4.2.3.CR3 and I want to synch up jboss5. Is that the version I should use or should there be a jbossts-4.2.3.CR3 release?
