I want to write my own portlet like CatalogPortlet, but i need information about pages and full paths. Which tables in database stored this information? Can i do this from portal API(if yes, which classes)? We have already organized the JGroups test suite accordingly, e.g. 'functional tests' which don't require a stack are run only once. We're also looking at using either testng or junit 4 for JGroups 2.6. Obe benefit for example is that, for each test class, you need to create a channel and connect to the group only *once*, which slashes the duration of a test run too. The clustering testsuite is somewhat disorganized and takes far too long to run. The "far too long to run" problem is mostly due to repeating tests multiple times under different configs (REPL_ASYNC vs REPL_SYNC, buddy replication or not, UDP/TCP/TCP_NIO). Some tests get executed 9 times!! Some of this duplication is valid, but much of it isn't. I'm going to go through and determine for which tests there is benefit from execution under different configs. I'll then organize the testsuite into packages such that it's easy to create ant patternsets to specifically target groups of tests for a particular config. Then update the testsuite build.xml to properly invoke the more limited patternsets. By the way : a description field for the Role would be good. This help understand what is the role (when there are many of them). Open a jira on that ? or keep it in the list of many things to do for Identity evolution ? ******************************** I like business role. I have just extended the User and Role objects and services, to manage "portal and business process". I call them UserPortalBP and RolePortalBP. The idea is to have a User (and Role) that offers some general properties for portal, and some properties and methods for business process needs (in the same instance). Example : access to a ProductCatalogAdminPortlet is related to the role/permission of "productViewer", "productModifyer" (modify only), "productAllControl" (create, suppress...). Those 3 roles must access to the portlet (GUI). In the JSR, there is a mapping of Portal roles and application roles (for EJB, etc...). I remember it is ok, but not usefull enough : don't want to write that in the portlet descriptor... no management tools etc.... So : create a RolePortal, with - an API that provide a RoleExtension interface : getRoleExtension(), setRoleExtension(RoleExtension re) - RoleExtension extends Role interface - Check the usual User and Role methods against this extension too : use of a patron pattern to delegate some treatment to the RoleExtension implementation That's the way I see it... ******************************** For user belong to community, user belong to role/group.
