[Design of JBoss internal QA (Test Suite)] - Making parameters more configurable in jboss-test

I would like to have the server start time and shutdown wait time more configurable from my ant script. Right now they have been set to a fixed value of 120 sec and 45 sec respectively. When using for the heavily loaded SOA config which takes more than 120 sec to start up, the server start task fails it. It would be nice to overwrite the default settings from my <server:start> ant task. Other parameters that have been set to fixed values can also be looked at to make them configurable. Watch the SOA Governance project we just started. All of what you mention will be covered within that, with hooks into the relevant projects. Check out some of the SOA/ESB presentations at JBoss World 2008 and you'll get some hints at what is coming. Cool idea! I think it would be great if there were also: | 1. Editors for the various deployment descriptors (q.v., web.xml editor from JBDS) to cut down on silly syntax errors that break deploys | 2. Project Template with HelloWorld service to ease the learning curve for new users | 3. (brace for major LOE) A graphical tool to build services by dragging shapes corresponding to built-in actions from a palette (think JBPM's eclipse plugin). Properties/config values would ideally be settable by right clicking on the node and popping up a dialog box. | 4. Right, but I can see configurations that don't even include parsing deployers. I'm thinking I want the default ManagedObjectCreator impl to be a separate deployer where overrides for the ManagedObjectCreator for a given attachment type can be configured.
